Flint, Michigan is a city still devastated by the loss of the auto industry several years ago. The auto industry was this regions bread and butter for citizens. Over 7 thousand people lost their jobs, homes and means of making a living. The city is still feeling the economic backlash from losing the auto industry. The question is this, what business could come in and replacement the auto industry as the key component to stabilize the local economy?
The answer is the tourist industry.
There is a specific industry that if brought here could and would revolutionize the industry and generate thousands of jobs locally and statewide. It would cause a lot of businesses to start and revamp the city socially and economically. I've researched this industry myself and if built this idea would bring in billions of dollars over time.
The first issue of starting this would be to buy ALL of the vacant lots where the auto factories once stood.
Secondly, there would have to be money put into rebuilding the city of Flint turning it into a more up to date tourist
attraction town. Flint, Michigan have over 8,000 houses that need to be demolished, but no one to take the contract.
I can start a construction company and give the inner city youth and out of work individuals jobs doing demolition.
Anyone that can bring jobs to Flint right now will have the full support of the whole city. All we'd need is his signing of
a bill that would let us open up a business that last year again generated 10 billion dollars. This project will feature
something ONLY available in one other place in the US and will attract tourists the world over.
Just the presence of this business will cause other companies to bring factories to try and cash in
and prosper new, which will bring more money into the local and statewide economy This attraction will bring
major hotels, banks, banquet halls, food and dining, clubs and countless other industries to Flint and the
surrounding areas. This attraction will be one of global proportions and attract businesses and
individuals to visit year round.
